FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Learn more about our Grid DERMS

What’s the difference between a Grid DERMS and an Edge DERMS?

A Grid DERMS manages aggregations of DERs, focusing on grid reliability and translating grid needs into dispatch opportunities for devices. An Edge DERMS optimizes the behavior of individual DERs, typically focused on maximizing benefits to the DER owner.

By integrating both systems, utilities can achieve coordinated control that leverages the strengths of each approach. Camus is happy to provide introductions to recommended Edge DERMS partners.

Do I need an Edge DERMS to benefit from your Grid DERMS?

No! Our Grid DERMS provides value by translating grid conditions into fleet-level operating parameters. Those parameters can be shared with independent third-party VPP operators (often referred to as "aggregators"), Edge DERMS providers, or device OEMs with their own aggregation capabilities. These approaches each provide access to flexibility and utilities can combine multiple or choose just one approach.

What makes your Grid DERMS different?

Camus' Grid DERMS is rooted in advanced grid visibility, allowing utilities to translate real-time conditions into actionable insights. Our focus on grid-aware management ensures optimized DER coordination while safeguarding reliability.

How long does it take to deploy your Grid DERMS?

Our platform is designed for rapid deployment, with initial analytics and insights available in just weeks. Full deployment timelines depend on specific utility needs and integrations.

How does your solution help defer grid infrastructure upgrades?

By managing DERs dynamically within real-time grid constraints, our platform helps utilities avoid overloading equipment, enabling deferral of costly upgrades while maintaining reliability.

What kind of support and training do you provide?

We offer robust customer support throughout deployment and ongoing use, including training for utility staff, technical assistance, and continuous platform updates to meet evolving needs.
